Following the failure of one of our readers, to install Prestashop on MacOS using Mamp, we will give you a quick little guide to make it.
Download Mamp
See you at http://www.mamp.info/en/index.php Mamp to download (for this: the bottom right click on the "download now").
Then click on the green "MAMP & MAMP PRO 1.7.2 'to download the application.
Download Prestashop
See you at http://prestashop.com/ to download Prestashop. Download the latest stable version (1.0 final, at the time of this writing.).
Installing Mamp
Once the application is downloaded, you should have a drive on your dock named Mamp & Mamp Pro.
Click on it. A page will appear with three file. Move the folder "MAMP" in the Applications folder (the one at the root, and not located in the subfolder "development" of your computer).
You should then to launch the application click on the icon inside the MAMP folder.
A window may appear asking for permission. Click "Open".
You should have the MAMP control panel display. Click "Start servers" (check while Apache Server and MySQL Server has the green light on) and then on "Open Start Page".
Creating the database
After opening the home page of your local server, click on the "PhpMyAdmin".
Once on the home page of it, in the "create a new database", enter "Prestashop".
You should have a confirmation message like this.
Installing Prestashop
Create a new folder inside the Applications / MAMP / htdocs called Prestashop.
Copy all files contained in the downloaded file "Prestashop 1.0" in this new folder. (Do not include sub-folder, the files must be in the root folder Prestashop).
Then, with your browser, go to the address http://localhost:8888/prestashop and follow the installation procedure.
When the form of the connection to the database appears, fill in the fields like this:
Server: localhost
Database name: prestashop
Username: root
password: root
Then continue the procedure normally by completing each field.
At the end of the installation, delete the folder "install" located in Applications / MAMP / htdocs, and rename the Admin to "partie_admin".
Conclusion
Your installation is complete, you should be able to access the address Prestashop: http://localhost:8888/prestashop, and the admin with the address http://localhost.8888/prestashop/partie_admin
